Debian Problem with apt-get

So what's the problem....I installed debian from a CD ( Debian 3.0r1 woody) and I didn't know how to work with apt-get so I ran apt-setup and it configured my apt-get sources.list because I wanted unstable I opened the sources.list and everywhere it appeared stable I changed it to unstable(a debian user who knows a lot told me that this is a big problem and will mess up the dependencies) and then I run apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade . After 9 hours of dl I waked up and looked and there appeared many errors and nothing was done. After this I asked a friend of my mine how to fix my debian distro and he gave mi a sources.list which he uses and then I again made apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade.After this there was no KDE only an GNOME,and I was angry because I use the two DE . My friend told me also not to change the sources.list but in apt.conf to change disto to testing. And here are the errors that I appear when I type apt-get install kde:
Code:
gamehack:~# apt-get install kde

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kde: Depends: kdelibs3 but it is not going to be installed
     Depends: libarts or
libarts-alsa but it is not going to be installed or
libarts-bin but it is not installable
     Depends: libkmid or
libkmid-alsa but it is not going to be installed or
libkmid-bin but it is not installable
Depends: kdebase but it is not going to be installed or
kdebase3 but it is not installable
Depends: kdebase-audiolibs but it is not going to be installed or
kdebase3-audiolibs but it is not installable
Depends: kdebase-libs but it is not going to be installed or
kdebase3-libs but it is not installable
Depends: konqueror but it is not going to be installed or
konqueror3 but it is not installable
Depends: kate but it is not going to be installed or
kate3 but it is not installable
Depends: kmail but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kab but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kpm but it is not going to be installed
Depends: kfract but it is not going to be installed
E: Broken packages
The other problems are:
1.In GNOME there are no icons and cannot use the mouse on the background,i click and nothing happens.I thought that is because I don't have nautilius installed, then I typed apt-get install nautilius and then I got the answer that there is now such package.
2.I want to ask if there is a way to fix my debian because I am so angry that I MUST use my xp box to do my work I want to get GNOME 2.4 with all the programs and KDE 3.2 beta 2 ,and everything else which comes with a usual distro all pre-installed and I want XFree 4.3.Is there any way to do this ?
THANKS TO ALL

The fact that kde is uninstallable in testing is a known bug

To answer your other questions:
1. Left-clicking the background in GNOME will do nothing, with or without nautilus.
2. GNOME 2.4 is only in unstable, not testing. KDE 3.2 isn't in any version of Debian, and XFree86 4.3 is only in experimental (though it works like a dream, I use it on both my sid machines).

Well, if you want all the stuff that you said (excluding KDE 3.2 because that's not in the main tree of any of the branches), you'll have to use unstable + experimental. I thought that was pretty clear from my post. So, I'd suggest using just unstable for a while, learning the ins and outs of Debian, and then adding on the experimental packages.
