Debian.org Download Links Not Working

Hi,

I am using debian etch. But glibc is 2.2 (can't even install rar support which takes 2.4) and it seems really out-dated.

I'm trying to get the 'testing' version (is this what I want??)

But the links all just time out

Any ideas? Thanks.

Also I want the most up to date version (as up to date as is safe without much crashing).

Help is appreciated.

Make your /etc/apt/sources.list file look like this:
Code:
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ testing main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ testing main

deb http://www.debian-multimedia.org testing main

deb http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main contrib
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main contrib
Then:
# aptitude keep-all
# aptitude update
# aptitude dist-upgrade
