I'm attempting to dual-boot Debian with OSX on my new MacBook Pro according to the instructions
here. I have repartitioned the hard drive and installed rEFIt (which works like a charm).
When I try to boot up from the installation CD, the laptop's keyboard doesn't work (as the howto predicts). I've got a couple of USB keyboards, which I've plugged in and can use to hit Enter at the boot: prompt. It starts to load the kernel and scrolls some information, and then starts scrolling "pc_keyb: controller jammed (0xFF)" over and over and over, until I finally get "keyboard timed out[1]". It defaults to the "Choose Language" menu, but by this point neither the USB nor the laptop keyboards work at all.
I've tried entering "install noapic irqpoll acpi=force" on the boot prompt, and just get "Could not find kernel image: install" as an error message.
Does anyone have any ideas for things I could try? I'm using Debian 3.1r5, the latest version of rEFIt, and the Intel Core2 Duo MacBook Pro. Thanks!
