Debian on IBM RS/6000 7025-F50

I was trying to install Debian on an IBM RS/6000 7025-F50 machine, but it failed when the installation tries to start the SCSI module.
I keep a debian image on a page that the page's owner says to put the command "expert-power3 video=ofonly" to correct this problem, but when I put it I kept the error: "Unexpected Firmware Error: DEFAULT CATCH!, code=fff00700 at %SRR0=01c0bd8c %SRR1=00083000".
I thought that error ocurred because the firmware was too old, but even with the last update the error persists.
Does someone know something to help me??
Thanks!!

You trying to install the 2.4.x or the 2.6.x kernel?

The 2.6.x kernel has supports way more hardware than the 2.4.x.
If you picked the default installation it's the 2.4.x kernel which means that you will have to compile the module manually.

If you are up to a fresh reinstall:
You can launch the installation with the 2.6.x kernel by typing this after boot from install cd:

Code:

linux26
Have fun.
