Debian on a s3 diamond trio

I'm trying to install debian on a:

AMD64 3000+
1GB ddr
S3 Diamond trio PCI vga-card

The problem is the VGA card.
I downloaded AMD64-netinst.iso, burnt it and booted it.

I get the screen where you can enter parameters(boot

Enter to accept default params.

Then it loads the installation, but after this I can't read anything anymore. According to someone I asked it shouldnt be an installation with anny graphics(100% command-line).

But I guess it does load some kind of gui because I can see something that looks like text, and select something(move cursor up and down a line).

Is there any way I can install without a graphical interface(I reckon it's the screen where you select language, country and keyboard settings.)

Have a look at the help section (one of the function keys) as they list various work-arounds for display problems.

Try downloading Ubuntu and see how it handles this.

Exactly the same.

My roommate has a pci-e gfx. I will ask him if I can use it to install debian.

Thanks for your support
