Debian normal user cant mount windows shared partition

Hi, Im using Debian with kernel bf24.

I have windows partition as vfat in my hard disk.

Currently , I must 'su -' as Root in order to read and write my windows partition.

my fstab is as follows:

/dev/hda2 /home/fj/win1 vfat rw,fj,auto 0 2
/dev/hdb1 /home/fj/win2 vfat rw,fj,auto 0 2

I have tried to 'chmod 777' both:
/dev/hda2 and /dev/hdb1

but still the message is:
bash: cd: win1: Permission denied

is there any other way to read my windows partitions rather than being a root? cause i try to use juk my mp3 are all in my windows partitions.

Thank you very much for your help.

Try

/dev/hda2 /home/fj/win1 vfat auto,user,umask=000 0 2
/dev/hdb1 /home/fj/win2 vfat auto,user,umask=000 0 2

I don't know what fj is, add it if you want. I don't think rw is needed, not sure though (I'm not working on a Linux system right now ).

You should add user (or was it users) option.
also suid or nosuid may be of help.

Try
man mount
to get more relevant information
