Debian netinst (Sarge) hangs at 92%

I was installing Debian (sarge) and quite early in the installation, the installation hangs in the "detecting hardware to find CD-ROM drives......'loading module 'sd_mod' for SCSI disk support'. I let it sit there for an hour or so but it didn't move. I have a single SATA drive. How can I fix this?

Try "linux26" at the boot prompt. 2.6 kernel natively supports ATAPI drives plus has SATA modules.

Hey thanks! I got it working. Actually I even managed to get past the first hangup by loading the library by hand, but after that the partitioner hanged up. But the 2.6 kernel helped.
