Debian Minimal LiveCD

EELO - Debian Minimal LiveCD

Hi, I've been planning on creating a livecd for quite some time now, and I've been trying to learn how to do it in Mandrake. However, lately I've become really fond of Debian, although it's hell to install Debian, I still like it...don't exactly know why, I just do (^-^).

I've been using linux for perhaps one or two years now, and I've become quite comfortable with it, however, I'm no expert, especially when it comes to more technical things, like creating a livecd. I don't know if I'm interested in using mklivecd, but I would rather just download the required packages and then create the distro, build the image, and burn it to a minicd-rw (185 MB).

I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but I just haven't been able to really learn how to make the ram filesystem, making the system bootable, and all the other things, I've tried to read howtos, but somehow I just can't learn anything. Am I just plain stupid? or are those howtos perhaps not so well written? I don't know, but somehow I'd have to learn how to do this. Could anyone please help me?

I won't tell you anymore yet, I like to keeps my ideas secret for now (^-^), but I have plans of making this small livecd distro something very, very useful, and it's not a rescue disc. Anyway, I'd really appreciate some help in this matter, I've been using windows for who knows how long, and I feel a bit stupid asking these things, as I'm so used to knowing almost everything about windows (^-^).

Morphix is a Debian based live cd that can be rebuilt to your own tastes. The howto's and recipes are pretty clear and I have always wanted to attempt it but never got time. Hope this helps.
