Debian kernel release notification?

Anyone know how to recieve notification when a new kernel-image is available? For example, I would like to recieve an email when "kernel-image-2.6.9-1-k7" becomes available. Is there an easy trick to monitor the apt package list with a cron job that will send myself an email when the new kernel is available? Thanks for your insight.

You can use to the debian-security-announce mailing list to get it and all the other security notices in your inbox by sending an email to debian-security-announce-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with the subject subscribe.

Well, I think that apt-watch is specifically created to serve just this kind of purpose i.e.

debian:~/etc# apt-cache search apt-watch
apt-watch - Monitor apt sources for upgrades

And do install apt-listchanges i.e. a most utility to keep one posted of the latest changes in a package as well as apt-listbugs > your best friend before you embark on an 'apt-get upgrade ' run, especially for those who happened to be on Sid/Scud.
