Debian Instillation Problems-Sarge 3.1

i am trying to install the latest version of debian 3.1 (sarge). i got first two cd images through http, then two more through jigdo, and then a netinstall cd. each one of these cds does the same thing when installing, it freezes for about 4 minutes on a few parts of the instillation, and then when it comes to the actual instillation it freezes and dosent do anyting. it freezes for the 4minutes during partitioning, detecting cd drivers, and then freezes completely during the actual instillation. i have successfully installed (and using) Feodora Core 3 and SuSE 8.3 Home Edition.
thank you so much

When you first boot the installation CD, it tells that you can press F1 for advanced options. You should try some of those alternative boot options, like "linux26" to boot the installer with the 2.6 kernel that has better hardware support than the default kernel (2.4).

Also, you should read carefully the installation manual.
