debian-installer amd64

I am trying to use the amd64 debian-installer boot CDs. I burn the CDs, and reboot and I get an isolinux message saying "Could not find kernel iimage: linux". I have tried several different amd64 images and none of them have worked, but all of the i386 images at least boot (though there seems to be some brokenness with the scripts). I am running on a Compaq M2000Z with a AMD Turion64 ML-34 processor. If booting from an amd64 disk can't be done (which I am beginning to suspect), is it possible to "upgrade" from i386 architecture to amd64 architecture? For now I am going to attempt an i386 install. If there are any amd64 images I can use I would be most grateful.

In the same processes of finding an ISO to boot from I think this is the one that worked for me;

http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/un...64-netinst.iso

They made those ones with the normal software the same way they did the i386 ones. The testing releases that it directs you to are made with a different (broken) process from what I was told. Who knows for sure, all I know is that nobody seemed to have noticed that all the amd64 iso's are broken.
