Hi, this is my first time post. I'm trying to install debian with over ftp, booting from a floppy. I downloaded the root.bin, checked the md5, wrote it to a clean floppy, checked and verified it.
When the computer boots, it tries the floppy, fails to boot from it, (probably due to the filesystem error) and goes into the suse bootloader. (grub?) from there, I can select the boot from the floppy option, but it gives me an error concerning a bad/unknown filesystem.

On other computers (windows-only) the bios will try booting from the floppy and hang.
Am I doing something wrong? Please help, I'd like to try Debian.
I've tried more than one floppy, each passing several fdformat's and imagings.
(by the way, my knoppix boot disk works fine)
