debian gnome broke
Where to start? Debian sarge on ASUS A7V8X athon 750 MB. Some times the home folder opens usually not. Actions/logout not working - I must open a terminal and shutdown -h now.
Synaptic will not launch from gnome/applications but I can run it from the command line.
Mozilla - cannot start a new thread on linuxquestions so I am using windows/mozilla.
I must run dhclient each time I logon to have internet connection.
I had to manually add the drivers for sound (via on-board) .
I could not install debian at all with the MSI8808 video card - changed to ati radion. Yes apt-get is great - thats why I tried debian to start with. If gnome is the issue thats fine I'll try KDE. I really want to try debian is it my hardware or sarge thats the problem? Is sarge just for testing? Should I expect this many problems? Should I use woody?
