Debian Etch se_apt-get problems.

While trying to perform an apt-get update/upgrade with Etch, so I could install system software which would (hopefully!) break less, I got the message:

Code:
Method rred has died unexpectedly!
after a few downloads of .pdiff files from the official testing repos.

What does this mean?
