debian etch randomly/frequently hangs

Everything except the cursor freezes until I hit the reset switch. No error, no possible reason.

How do I find out why?

lspci for debian
aida32 or everest programs for windows.

My drivers weren't up to date, I should know better than to use the ones that come with my OS -.-.... You'd think I'd of learned by now :P

How did you find & install the correct drivers?

Were they in the normal repos, or what?

Did you have to compile anything?

Yes. For other users it would be nice if you could post your solution as another person may encounter your problem. I'm happy you fixed your unit:-)
