Hi,

Welcome to LQ

The DVD images contain more packages, making it easier to install machines without an Internet connection. However, if you get a whole set of CDs or DVDs, you will get a lot of packages that you won't actually use.

Kind regards

If you have a working internet-connection I would recommend to install with the netinstall-CD. This way you can save bandwith (only download what is installed).

Depends on the speed of your system, or your internet connection if you do a netinstall.
I don't think the difference will be that important.

Kind regards

I don't think (have never done it) that the installation would be slower. But you have to download the CD (700MB, with probably programs on it you won't use), install it and then get the latest updates. Using the netinstall-CD you would download the netinstall-CD (140MB, with only the installer and a basic system) or the businesscard-CD (40MB, with only the installer) and then install the system with updated packages from the internet.

There is no such thing as live dvd I think.

Debian isos are seperated to 3-4 that act as live media only and the rest that are installation media only.
