Debian and Geforce FX 5900 Ultra

Hi,

I successfully upgraded the kernel to 2.6.13 and installed the new NVIDIA driver for x86 PC

In the readme, it is mentioned to put in the configuration, like driver name etc.

BUT : I did this once on RedHat and all settings were in there already such as resolution etc.

On the Debian installation however there is nothing but the three settings mentioned in the README.

My question now, did someone already installed the GeForce FX 5900 Ultra and made all appropriate settings to get 1280x1024 with 16/32 Bit and Hardware Acceleration enabled ?

Would you mind sharing your setting ?

When you need some information, please let me also know how to get them as I am really such a n00b that i am even happy to see the NVIDIA Logo popping up when starting :) Or even install it from the ftp installation cd,. but that is it already :)

Thanks

did you try 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86' in the console as root?
Choose the settings you want. If you don't know what the setting mean, leave it blank, or accept the defaults.

You might want to try asking this in the Linux nVidia forum at http://www.nvnews.net

That forum is full of nVidia Linux users :D
