debian 8 jessie and weather applet

Hi,
I have just upgraded my system from wheezy 7.8 to jessie, my question is where to I get the weather applet from, I don't find it under Gnome extensions ?

Also is there a way to modify the way the panel appears? for example to make my username appear on the panel ?

Thanks,

GNOME-weather was dropped because the images used for the backgounds didn't comply with the licensing requirements.

You could compile it yourself:

You can modify /usr/share/gone-shell/theme/gnome-shell.css but it's probably easier to just try to find a shell extension that meets your needs.
