Debian 4.0; booting

I can't get Debian to boot. Someone mentioned Debian removed hotplugging but it still boots up with a hotplugging like script. Most distros have hotplugging to search for hardware and automatically probe the module for it.

The problem is that I have onboard video and when it probes for the module it 'disables' the AGP board instead.

Anyone know which package or which script is causing this?

I'll take a stab, though you're a bit of a miser with details.
"udev is a daemon which dynamically creates and removes device nodes from /dev/, handles hotplug events and loads drivers at boot time."
Therefore, your video card should be detected at boot time with the proper module being loaded automagically. Seems like you have a BIOS issue (may be an option to favour AGP.) However, you can try blacklisting the onboard module.
