Creating custom headers to match a custom kernel


I would like to create a kernel headers file for a custom compiled kernel in debian.....can this be done.....i need a custom header file to match my custom kernel for created a VMware server using my custom optimized kernel in the host system.

I haven't done this, but wouldn't "make-kpkg kernel_headers" create that package?
