Creating a source package of everything installed.

Server - EC2 Instances
OS - Ubuntu 16.04
Primary App. - Cassandra DB

How do I create a tarball of all packages currently installed on my cassandra nodes? Google God's pointed me here. However, I was advised to use that as a last option.

Purpose of this is to host all the installed packages in a central repository(Artifactory), from which all the Cassandra nodes can get their updates. I can provide more specific information if needed.

This gets me the list of everything installed 'apt list --installed'. However, that is only part of the equation.

Have you looked at using aptly (https://www.aptly.info/) to create a local package repository?

I found out about it just this past Friday. I intend to read the documentation and test it very soon. Thanks.
