cpu scaling missing in kpowersave

As the title says, the cpu frequency scaling option is missing when I right-click on the kpowersave icon.
I'm using a hard drive install of kanotix. When I boot the kanotix livecd the option is there and is automatically set to dynamic and both processors are generally using around half their capacity.
Also if I boot into suse, the option is there, just not in my kanotix install.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+

(Running 32bit version of kanotix)

<EDIT>
Never mind, it's solved. I was missing a resume2 line in grub.
