Could not install Java on Debian Sarge

Hi.

Yesterday i want to install the JAVA jdk1.6.0_04 on a virtual server in frankfurt. so i downloaded the jdk from the offical sun website to my server.

after that i set the +x flag to the jdk binary and agreed the license.
at the end of the installation process there is a error at the ssh shell.

Can you tell me what i have done wrong. I do not really know my faults.
The uname -a command displays the following ...

Linux xxxxx.1blu.de 2.6.9-023stab046.2-smp #1 SMP Mon Dec 10 15:04:55 MSK 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

I also have tested the installation after i have done a complete update and upgrade with apt-get. a kernel update to etch does reset the server to the default sarge distribution.

Can you help me please! I am a complete newbie!

Perhaps this can help you for answering me:

It is a vserver with 200mb of ram garanteed and a max of 1024 mb of ram.

Thank You for your request.

Yesterday after a long search with google I have found a similar post at the sun site. I have tested it but there was no success for me.

I also reinstalled the server several times, with openSuse10.0, openSuse10.1, debian sarge, ubuntu 6.06 and ubuntu 6.10. everytime without any success. After this gauntlet I wrote a final letter to my provider to help me with my problems. Until now I have no answer!

If nobody has another tip for me and my provider does or could not help me I would cancel the contract with my provider for the next quarter.

So thank you for your answers!
