connected, but carrier signal lost


After 3 days of working on this I need some help. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Wow, this is a tough one... (as I don't have it installed ) Found the man page in html: http://www.die.net/doc/linux/man/man...al.conf.5.html It has something on Carrier check, Auto reconnect and wvdialconf that might be of use to you.

Can you post your configuration file? I seem to remember an option having to do with "stupid mode" that is needed more often than not. Not being sarcastic this really is an option.

I'm not sure what it is you want?

Your configuration file should be located at /etc/wvdial.conf can you post it here please.

Hi,

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, here is part of the solution that worked for me:

Your wvdial configuration file is a hidden file in your /home/ directory.

Open it in your favourite editor, you know you have the correct file when you see the following lines at the bottom:

;Do NOT edit this file by hand!
Good

You need to ignore this sage advice and change the following lines:

Quote:
Carrier Check = on
Stupid Mode = off
And change them to:

Quote:
Carrier Check = off
Stupid Mode = on
Try to connect then and post back if it works or does not as this may be a solution for other members.
