There is a thread at the forums.debian.net where you can read about the liquorix-kernel:
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.p...=45151&start=0
There you will find out that damentz is happy to answer any questions.
There is also an irc-channel. Not sure wich one it is.

I guess i am the only one but:
If you need a script to update your system or do other stuff you probably will not want to run testing or sid.
Learn to use the system. Once that is done you might consider using a script for admin stuff (but will know that all of that is done just as easy on your own).
That is my opinion.

Duly noted. I seem to be in the happy situation that I can soon see this in action, so it makes for a good trial.

Also duly noted!

That is a good reason. Having 8Gb RAM and having to enable PAE might eat into that, though...

Being a PCLOS user, this is everyday stuff... we are spoiled like that!

It saddens me to see how quickly it turned into a flaming war, but the other posts were very informative, so thank you for that.

It might not be a question of 'needing' it... if it makes life easier then that is good enough, isn't it? I guess it all depends on personal temperament, and your opinion is taken onboard.

I need to move, as I feel my questions are becoming more and more diffuse... I shall install Testing and get some experience, so I will have a better idea as to what suits me best... and be able to ask more pertinent questions if needed.

Testing it is... if only for now.

Cheers all for you valuable time and experience, much appreciated!
