Computer refuses to boot Debian
Hi everybody
My desktop PC (Intel Pentium 4) is a dual boot, running Debian and Windows XP, using GRUB as bootloader. Some time ago, Debian stopped working. I've tried Ubuntu and Knoppix Live CDs, to access my files. I have also tried reinstalling from Debian CDs and using rescue mode. (The CDs work fine on other systems) All CDs load their initial menus without a problem. However, as soon as I try to boot, install or enter rescue mode, I get... "Parsing ELF.....Booting kernel....." and then nothing. They all stop and no error messages are displayed. I hope somebody can tell me what's wrong. Thanks, Milan |
I fear you need to format the system. It happened with me also previously I ended up formatting it.
