how do i compile a kernel for debian sarge? i mean, in slackware for Linux 2.6.x you have the 'alsa', 'kernel modules', 'kernel source' packages that need to be installed before compiling and installing a kernel.
i have got all the 13 cd's of debian sarge, installed it with kernel 2.6, but it failed to detect my isa-sound card. when i tried to compile the kernel, no source file i found. i would appreciate some help.
