command for finding out disk space used


Hi, this is a strictly newby question.
which linux command gives you the used/unused space on a disk partition. the same info obtained in Windows when you click on the "My computer" icon.

Not sure if this is exactly what your looking for but try 'df -h'

"df -h" shows the free space available on any mounted partitions and "du -h" shows how much space has been used.
