Colored boot messages just like KNOPPIX LiveCD

Does anybody know how can we have color boot messages in Debian Lenny just like we have in KNOPPIX LiveCD?

I am using Squeeze not Lenny but I'm sure what I say was also true when Lenny was testing. I do and did get coloured boot messages when something failed the word "failed" comes out in red. Is this what you mean? I didn't do anything special it seems to default to this mode.
Cheers,
jdk

Not exactly. Even I get those "failed" messages in red. I was more talking about the colored boot process that you see when you boot a LiveCD like knoppix as shown here.

I tend to think of this sort of boot look as Gentoo style, but in any case, here's a link (with some more links) that suggests how you might do it.
