Cinnamon fallback mode in virtualbox
Hi everyone, I'm new
For university lessons I need to use Linux Mint on VirtualBox, the problem is that at startup I get the message that Cinnamon has crashed and this doesn't make me work. I have read many topics and many forums (I have been trying to solve for three days), so I tried to put the 3d acceleration, to add ram .., in short, I "played" with the settings trying everything possible, also comparing myself with other fellow students course and failed. Maybe it's a driver problem? Can anyone help me out? how can i fix it using the driver manager? Thanks so much. I put some screenshot. to see the photos right click and open them in a new screen. Thanks cat /etc/linuxmint/info http://https://ibb.co/JHSdGNK https://ibb.co/gd35ghL https://ibb.co/0YwsNSK these are the specifications of a friend of mine to which it all works https://ibb.co/nCXNygs https://ibb.co/c35q9dN I really think it is a graphics card and / or driver problem. thank you very much for helping |
Welcome aboard the LQ boat!
There is nothing specific that comes to mind but is there a reason why VMware is mentioned in your attachments and not on your friends? Please provide more information regarding the system you are running, the type of setup and if you indeed are running VirtualBox or are your machines running off a VMware server? It would help give us a better idea of the problem and be able to provide relevant suggestions. |
You can tell your professor or to yourself not to use LMDE for this purposes and use a LM stable and supported instead, ubuntu or any other flavour you like.
LMDE 2 is no longer secure neither supported. |
