Unfortunately, in the rare occasions, where I'm on chat, i must use the msn protocol, so yesterday i have tried something.

1) After reading this article:
Addio skype, benvenuto Pidgin con il supporto audio e video! I have tried to install the last pidgin because skype on linux never work well (the video and the microphone never work) but unfortunately don't go for the lack of two update libraries.
Patience, for the moment, was just curiosity for me.
2) I have installed the pidgin present on debian lenny but don't go using msn.
3) I have installed emesene and seem work.

I would like known if someone use the standard pidgin with msn protocol.

Install pidgin from the backports.org repo. or use amsn.

Thanks now pidgin work even with the msn protocol.

/etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://www.backports.org/debian lenny-backports main

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get -t lenny-backports install pidgin

Note:
For the moment i haven't tried the video.
