Can't get Touchpad to Work on iBook

I've tried to get my touchpad to work with debian, but nothing I do seems to make it work.

My computer is the newest model ibook (2005) model. Apparently it has a different driver to allow the two finger scrolling. Regardless, I can't get anything to work - the touchpad is simply non-responsive.

Also, I tried to do cat dev/input/ to all the devices there but I got no response to any of the input devices.

I'm running the default debian that you download from their website.

Here is my xf86config file:

Thanks for any help!!!!

Which version? etch? sarge? sid? To be honest most of the stuff in your synaptics section has proven useless to me. What has works in add
Code:

Option "SHMConfig" "on"
Then after that you can use this lovely program called synclient, first thing to do is a synclient -l | less, this will output all the possible values which can be changed with
Code:

synclient Var=[Value]
I haven't figured out how to store the values yet, thats one of my challenges for tonight.
