ok did that a folder called windows shows up but its empty

no problem! (same here on the time). Once the folder is created, you have to run the mount command again. Then the windows partition will be mounted in /mnt/windows

Thanks for your help guys.I posted my message on the newbie forum and got more help and now i can use my Xp files.
