That is weird, in this case I would think that this is a hardware error, especially since you state that the medium doesn't work correctly in Windows also.
I would replace it.

I know it's weird, tho how can it break down physically from just deleting the files(incorrectly tho and deleting .trashes)?
it kind deleted them into itself and deleted itself lol
but still....it can't just break cuz of it, can it?

under XP it shows F drive, tho nothing u can do about it, diskpart doesn't see it while rescan and disk list
tho both systems see it as usb mass storage!

It may be just a coincidence that it broke at exactly that time. Sometimes weird things happen.

like when it doesn't care whethever it's present and workable drive

SOLVED!!!

Got my gf's laptop(winXp), downloaded transcend online recovery tool and fkn recovered it!

got another question tho

how do i actually increase the usb speed

google doesn't seem to be helpful(my system is a bit "dead" even won't let me copy files to usb pen drive unless i'm root, adding to groups etc. doesn't help and file transfer speed is reeeeeaaaallly slow) under MsWindows the same drive performs a much better speed!

the answer to previous problem is: if it's Transcend - then download their software and easily recover your not physically dead flash drive, if it's not transcend - then use SMI MPTool.
