can not browse web pages


debian 3.1 kernel 2.6 installed. Using pon to make ADSL connection. But the status of firefox is always "looking up .... According to some posts, I removed ipv6 module, but with no improvement.

Pls give some advice, thanks.

Need more info what kind of card ,what have you done so far etc. etc. etc

A valid IP address is already got, I think is that the DNS looking up can not be successful.

So, can you ping servers on the internet ??? If you can ping them using their ip-address and not using their domain name, there is something wrong with the DNS lookup. Have you specified your DNS servers in '/etc/resolv.conf' ???
