Can I use the DVD-ISOs to build a local ftp-mirror ?

Hi all,

after spending some time getting the DVD-ISOs for Lenny, I realized that my DVD-Reader on the good olī Dell C600 isnīt working any more.

Therefore - and just for the kicks - Iīd like to build a local (i.e. no internet connectivity) FTP-server for debian installation.

Do I need to download 1x GB again ? Or is there a way to use the DVD-ISOs to set up a local FTP-server ?

Also, is it possible to do offline updates ? Like : Getting to the internet at a friends place, download the updates, then add them to the FTP-server ? What would I need to do for that scenario ?

Thanks in advance,
