I'm trying to install Ubuntu which as I understand it is based on the new Sarge installer.
The disk(s) matched their md5 sums & the installer verified that the packages were good.
At about 81% of the "Installing the Ubuntu base system" phase I get this error:

No installable kernel was found in the defined APT sources.
The current default kernel package is 'kernel-image'.
You may try to continue though this strange error is probably fatal.

I saved the error reports to a floppy. From "messages":
