can't build nx_nic module with etch

Hi,

I take care of a couple of machines equiped with a netxen 10gb nic.

I build an pfring patched 2.6.18 kernel and the module (nx_nic) for the nic could be built.

If I switch to an etchnhalf pfring patched 2.6.24 kernel I fail to build the module for the nic because of some problems during the make process.

I wouldn't care about it, if the the gpl version of the module netxen_nic would work properly but it doesn't.

After one or two hours the nic is dead and no pakets are visible with tcpdump.

Bringing the interface up and down helps only for a short term.

I would like to open a bug report but don't know where.

We can't help you if you don't post the "some problems".

I am quite aware of what, the machines are currently down for maintance and will be operational not before monday.

It is a c/c++ error during the compile process, several funtions refer to none existence variables/headers files and so on.

I will post the exact message if the machines are up again.

But this is just the problem with the nx_nic module, the gpl version of the driver also doesn't work.

I just wanted a direction where to post my problem so it can be fixed for others, this is server grade hardware and there is not much info about it.

Did you install the kernel headers for 2.6.24?

Yes, I also installed a debian kernel with headers and the modules also didn't compile.
