Can't login as a user... x resets

Hi,

I installed knoppix a while ago, but got sick of not having access to some sw and upgraded to sid. It went ok but for one thing. When a an ordinary user logs in, the image on the screen becomes distorted, the x server resets and it send me back to the login screen. As root it is fine.

Does anyone know what might be wrong? I removed kde and reinstalled it again, it worked for one session and then upon logging in this morning it did it again.

I suspect permissions but I don't know where to look.

Cheers,
Danx

Try removing your .kde directory and any .kde* files you might have.
