Can't launch X-apps as super user

This is probably a simple fix (even though I couldn't find an answer), but for some reason I can't launch X-apps when I su to root.

I get this:
Quote:

desktop:/home/phi# gvim /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

E233: cannot open displayXlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Hit ENTER or type command to continue
Any ideas?

"apt-get install sux" and type sux instead of su. There are other solutions like "xhost local:" and as root "export DISPLAY=:0.0" but sux is easiest and secure.

Excellent! Thank you!

That sux rules! (oxymoron intended)
