Can't install steam on Asus G750JW laptop, tried everything I can think of.

I've been working on installing steam on my computer for the last two days. I keep getting this error when I start up steam.

"You are missing the following 32-bit libraries, and Steam may not run:
libGL.so.1
Press enter to continue: "

So, when I try to install the libraries with the help from this link, (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2...ts-trusty-tahr) it didn't work. I'm heading out now but here's the other links I used to no avail.

https://wiki.debian.org/Multiarch/HOWTO

https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2233005

http://unix.stackexchange.com/questi...nu-libgmp-so-3

I continue to have the issue where I am unable to install the packages for the 32 bit libraries.

Here's my source list,
#

# deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 8.5.0 _Jessie_ - Official amd64 NETINST Binary-1 20160604-15:31]/ jessie main

#deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 8.5.0 _Jessie_ - Official amd64 NETINST Binary-1 20160604-15:31]/ jessie main

#deb http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring main restricted universe multiverse" > ia32-libs-raring.list

deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free
deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free

deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main contrib non-free

deb http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ jessie/updates main contrib non-free

#deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main contrib non-free
# jessie-updates, previously known as 'volatile'
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie-updates main

I tried to put all the information I can think of to be helpful, if you have any ideas please tell me. I just wanted to play EU4

(Your sources list is a bit of a dogs dinner e.g. this line deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie main contrib non-free is effectively the same as this line deb http://httpredir.debian.org/debian jessie-backports main contrib non-free.

Unless you are a computer whizz and need the source code you don't need any line beginning deb-src.)

Why are you following an UBUNTU tutorial?

Look here: https://linuxconfig.org/installation...-8-linux-64bit

(You could maybe benefit from using https://debgen.simplylinux.ch/ . Copy and paste to your sources.list. And probably you don't need any ***Sources Repository. httpdir is Debian Redirector. EITHER use it OR the more orthodox approach, BUT NOT both.

I decided to restart from the very beginning and started with reinstalling the nvidia drivers again. That seemed to fix the issue.
