Can't clear cache/install packages in Musix 2.0

My cache is full, and I've tried doing "apt-get clean" to no avail. I also can't find any apt.conf file in my system. Help, please? Here is a screenshot of the error message that pops up when I open Synaptic Package Manager:

PS: I'm pretty new to Linux, especially Debian; most of my Unix-like OS experience is with Mac OS X. My Musix installation is in a VMWare machine.

Please increase the size of APT::Cache-Limit
You need to open /etc/apt/apt.conf with an editor of your choice and change the current value for a higher one.
