burning, ide-cd and "mount: No medium found"
Hi !

I've succeed in burning a cd with xcdroast and the non-deprecated option "ide-cd" for lilo... this wasn't very hard, but i'm glad :)

of course i got a strange error (why using debian otherwise ;)) after burning my CD (data/multi-session), where everything went well, i tried to mount it on my writer:

> mount /dvdrw
> ls /dvdrw
smallville.s03e01.vcd-ffn.mpg                          // sorry -_-*

everything is good for the moment, but when i try to mount it on my other drive:

> mount /dvdrom
mount: No medium found

Can someone tell me why ? Maybe it's simply something like fixating the cd after burning. Just don't know and i don't want to use 10 000 CDs ;)

Update> on my server, the CD is correctly read... Do we have to put the ide-cd flag only for the writer ?

Thanks !

PS: orange-red color is blue ? (see my comment above)

I have the same problem, it seems, and when you write "ide-cd have to be put only for the writer",
do you mean in the append line of lilo?

Here is my lilo lines:

And here is my output for `ll /dev/cdrom`:

/home/creak# ll /dev/cdrom
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root root 9 2004-08-07 04:07 /dev/cdrom -> /dev/scd0

Hopes it helps :)
