bullseye

Some have been wondering why we can't upgrade testing as either just "testing" or bullseye. Having either in sources.list apt updating concludes all packages are up to date. In debian's forums users suggest to wait it out a bit.

I've found someone pointing to this mailing list Bits from the Release Team: ride like the wind, Bullseye!

suggesting there have been changes as to how packages are moved into testing. So it may take maintainers a bit to recover from Buster's launch and reorganizing.

At least this is what I like to believe.

This article "Debian 11 "Bullseye" Cycle Prepares To Begin Long Journey" provides some explanation and a link to the mail archive. I only have a superficial idea what it might mean. Other than let's just wait... it's not necessarily a mis-configuration on our end.

I found another answer as to what we're waiting on to get bullseye upgraded properly

https://ultra-technology.org/linux_f...llseye-debian/

this points out a text file with version info being the save in stable and testing (buster and bullseye) packages
