bootup freezes for 10 minutes at: IPv6 over IPv4 tunneling driver
I have Debian sarge 3.1 and on bootup it stalls for 10 minutes on the following message:" IPv6 over IPv4 tunneling driver", the next message in dmesg is: eth0: no IPv6 routers present .
I don't know what is causing this or how to fix it. I'm a relative newbie to Linux, about 1 year with Redhat 9 and a few weeks with Debian. If you can explain in a step by step process, I would be glad to do anything you might ask to fix this. I have gone to IRC, but the folks in #debian (irc.freenode.net) are real gurus, and sometimes they aren't too helpful or too friendly to newbies, with some exceptions. I don't like waiting 10 minutes to boot up every time, in debian. Will gladly reply to any comments on how to fix this problem. I really appreciate anybody who might offer assistance. Thank you in advance. :) Note: I have freenet6 tunnel installed via apt, but this loads perfectly a little before this message for the tunneling driver, which I think Debian supports by default without freenet6. I have 2.6 kernel. I also have 2.4 kernel, but I don't use it much. |
if you dont use ipv6 anyway - try blacklistning ipv6 module by putting it in /etc/hotplug/blacklist
