boot disk for grub; network config; printer pb

Hi,

i am using sarge, I want to create a boot disk from
my distro, I tried mkboot, but it seems running with
lilo and not grub

network: there is no network configuring program, like
netcardconfig, So I have to fill manually the
/etc/network/interface file

The configuration of printer seems difficult, what to
use cups or directjet, my hp printer has a network
card

thanks
bela

1) You can follow the directions here to make a grub boot floppy, or else download the Ultimate Boot CD, which should have a grub boot floppy on it.

2) What are you using? KDE? Gnome? I've never used netcardconfig, so I'm not sure what it is. If you're using KDE, try apt-get install kdenetwork. On Gnome, try apt-get install gnome-nettool. Hotplug should take care of finding your card. One of these other should take care of setting the /etc/network/interface file.

3) I believe you install cups and then in your web browser type localhost:631 to configure it.

config network card tool

thank you for grub i'll check and follow the link.
for the gnome-nettool, it is installed but it is a user tool and not an administator tool, I mean i doesn't configure the card ( which writes in /etc/network/interfaces.)
I am sure that tool exists, I 'd use it the command begin with net..., but i can't remember where it is? I looked for in the sarge CD but?
thanks for help

I searched the sarge repositories and didn't find netcardconfig there. Chances are it is not yet a debian package or didn't meet the requirements to be included in Debian.
