Backuppc & Debian

Has anyone been able to get Backuppc and Debian working? I am having a REAL hard time with it.

I guess the Debian maintainers decided to put things in the Debian standard locations, so the documentation sometimes tells me to look in directory A, when the file actually resides in B. I was wondering if maybe they made a mistake and didn't re-code the program to look in the correct place(s).

It should be very easy to do what I want it to do. I have mounted the windows shares as /mnt/winC and mnt/winD (and I CAN connect and see all the files on those harddrives). Then I edited the file for those share names, my host name (debian), and to use the tar program as a transport agent. But, every time I try to do a backup, the log file says "no files to dump for share XXX"

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem with it, sort of. The only reason I went with using Backuppc was the web interface. Does anyone know of anything simular that will work a little better?

That is the guide I was following. It was showing a specific error. When I get to the box and have time, I will post the error.
