HI
ENV1:
Mandrake 10.1
ENV2
Debian Lenny stable

Action:
opening Linux-html-HOWTOs.tar.tar

Prb:
Debian Lenny is too much intelligent...
clicking on the file konqueror fully opens every book in the archive..
si it take very long time, and i cannot then find the book i need to read because every page of every book is opened.

Mandrake behave opening first the folder howto and the cliking on the howto it shows the book list...in this i can open only
the book i need to read.

to diagnose i opened the tar archive with ark in the debian environment... and the results are the same like opening it with konqueror.
so i think this is how ark defaults behave.
in debian it automatically display all the archive
in mandrake it display the archive step by step.

the archive was the linux html how to i downloaded some years ago

so how to force ark in the debian environment to beahve in the correct way ?

thank in advance

Maurizio

tar -t or --list
should list an tar-archive. how to change/add that in ark i wouldn't know. somewhere in the gui-preferences i guess.
