Are there plans to fix broken m4a support in cmus?

I've never had a question like this, so if I'm in the wrong place, please tell me where the proper place is.

This past week, I upgraded my system to Jessie. I use cmus as my music player, and I have many music files in m4a format. In Wheezy (version 2.4.3, according to Debian's web site), I had no problems. However, in Jessie, the newer version of cmus (2.5.0, according to "cmus --version") doesn't support m4a files.

I've looked around and I've found that this problem seems to be caused by a mis-configured cmus-plugin-ffmpeg.

I'm fairly certian that the issue has been fixed upstream; my Arch laptop has version 2.6.0 (from "cmus --version") and has no problems with the m4a files.

I checked the package details for Stretch and Sid, and they are both the same version as the Jessie version.

I've tried looking on the bug tracker, but I didn't see anything related to this.

Should I file a bug report? If so, could someone direct me to the proper place? Or is there already a fix planned?

Thanks

Apparently this is the wrong place. I'm just replying now to take it off the zero reply list.

For future readers, I found a really good guide on how to compile cmus from source on Debian Jessie with the proper codecs.

Well, I feel like a complete idiot. I just installed Debian Jessie on a new hard drive, and was looking for the tutorial. This thread popped up in the results, and I found out that I didn't include the link for the tutorial.

I apologize for the necropost, but I feel that I should correct my mistake for the benefit of anyone else who stumbles upon this thread.
