Are SVG icons broken for nautilus in Debian testing?

Over the past couple days my icon theme stopped working for nautilus. I had been using a scalable svg based set of icons, these refuse to load and are instead replaced by the default gnome icons.

I tried using a few other SVG only icon themes and none are working.

Does anyone know about this / how or when it will be fixed?

Had a similar prob on Sidux recently. Can't quite remember how I fixed it, but if you are still stumped, go and have a look around sidux forums. There was a fix there.

I fixed the problem:

Turns out the icons were saved using some SVG extension things that nautilus doesn't appreciate anymore.

To fix it, I just opened all of the icons up one by one in Inkscape and instead of saving them as "Inkscape SVG" save as "Plain SVG" icons then work as expected.
